“Raggedy Android” - What started as a self-imposed challenge to make a piece of music featuring my new Stylophone synthesizer, evolved into a rambling, schizophrenic sonic billboard announcing that I clearly don’t know what I’m doing. It was still fun, though, and hopefully you’ll be entertained by it.

“Haka” - A tribute to a great member of our clan. This is the most emotionally-wrought piece I’ve done.
RIP Thomas Edgar Coleman.

“Canning Day” - Inspired by the wind chimes that serenaded us while we canned pickles on a gorgeous August afternoon (captured and used as background in the recording).
This piece is a study of a simple, breezy melody worked out with acoustic bass and banjo. If it feels like a summer day to you too, let me know via the “contact” page.

“FAFO” - The amount of “finding out” is directly proportional to the degree of “f’ing around”.
I wanted an opportunity to try out my new samba whistle and Jew’s harp. Being a realist, I knew that I couldn’t use them both in the same piece. Being a musical thrill-seeker, I went ahead and did it anyway. Scold me via the “contact” page.

“69th Street” - This piece pays tribute to the 69th Street transportation hub/shopping district of Upper Darby, Delaware County PA. As teens in the 80s, we spent time going to concerts at the Tower Theater (still do), shopping for rock tees and rolling papers at The Balcony, or just walking the streets checking out girls.
In “69th Street”, I tried to capture the boisterous, chaotic atmosphere of that popular locale. If the feel of it suggests a busy street scene to your mind, let me know via the “contact” page.

“Call to Prayer” - It’s twilight, the glow is fading. Quiet bells remind the Faithful to put down their work and gather at the clearing in the woods to offer their prayers of gratitude.
Listen for some new noise-makers in my collection -a kalimba and a talking drum. This ambient Pilgrim’s companion, if consumed properly, will leave the listener in the correct frame of mind for…
“Nocturne” - After dark in the forest, your eyes are rendered useless and your ears become your primary connection to the world around you. Experience “Nocturne”. See what imagery your mind conjures… let me know via the “contact” page.
Namaste.

With the Swedish/Italian holiday of Lucia Fest coming up, I thought it was a good time to release TransAtlantic, a musical tribute to my noble Swedish ancestors who crossed the ocean in search of new worlds, where they spread peace and joy and became friends to all.
I tried to capture the rolling, sea-sick feel of a longboat being tossed in the waves, carrying these gentle ambassadors of peace.

It’s been a while, but I’m finally finding studio time again! I present “Progbilly Rhapsody”, a prog rock/bluegrass mash-up.

It’s my birthday, so I thought I’d celebrate by releasing some new music!
The intro “Eighty-Three Sloppy Seconds” is a slow-burning, jazzy groove… the kind you might hear in a smoky club late in the evening, when the players are well-lubricated.
“Girl in the Window” is a piece inspired by recurring visions of a girl, silhouetted in a window overlooking a city street.
I hope you enjoy it!

Adwoa is a member of our family from Ghana, who helped us through a very rough time. None of us will ever forget the contribution she made during that emotionally trying period of our lives.
I made this composition while keeping Adwoa in the back of my mind, and I hope that somehow her complex blend of humor, determination and kindness comes through in the music.
I offer this piece as a belated, but entirely genuine “thank you” for what she did for our mom, and for us.
It’s also the first recording I’ve made which features my singing, so apologies in advance!

new music for a new year!
Nodding off on a blanket in the sand, slipping into unconsciousness while the seawater dries on your skin and the soft sound of the waves echoes in your ears, the chattering gulls and bits of overheard laughter and conversation intertwining to become the seeds of your lazy dreams… that’s the picture I tried to paint with Asle Epon Thebe Ach. I hope it takes you to a happy place.

My step-daughter and her wife have a cat named Loki. Since he’s the only grandchild I have at the moment, I made a little steam-punk/western-style mash-up for him. Why? Because at his age all boys want to be cowboys when they grow up, don’t they? I know I did!
Love you, Mandi and Justine, and your furry little guy.
Merry Christmas from Fake Dad!
